David Busch's Nikon D4 Guide to Digital SLR Photography (David Busch's Digital Photography Guides) Details
From the Author It's been very difficult getting advanced users of a sophisticated camera like the Nikon D4/D4s interested in a book about their camera. Most of you are veteran photographers with no interest in hand-holding or learning the basics from a camera guide. So, while the audience for my original proposed book on the D4 was relatively small, it's hoped that by combining my guide for the D4 with new, comprehensive coverage of the D4s, there will be sufficient interest among owners of either (or both) cameras to make this expanded guide viable. This has been a labor of love for me, and no other publishers have taken the risk of putting together a book like this for a camera with such a tiny installed base. So, if you've been waiting for a book about your D4 or D4s, your patience has been rewarded. I've put my D4s through its paces as the main camera I use for my work, and the revised book is back from the printer and now shipping from retailers. I've worked hard to answer the most probing questions about these great cameras. Those who have been on the waiting list for the original D4 book should receive top priority in receiving their copies as they become available. Reviews
This is the 4th Dave Busch camera guide I have owned -- paralleling my cameras. I got his book for my D200, D700 and D800 cameras and ordered one the second I bought a cherry used D4. The Camera arrived on a Thursday and Dave's book on Friday. The previous track record -- books that give you a good overview and can get you taking pictures about as soon as you get a battery charged, and then go into the camera in exquisite detail -- is continued here. As in the past, I used this book as a guide to set my camera up to do what I want it to do. And now it will reside on my night stand and many evenings, I will open it at random and start reading. If things are the same -- and I see no reason they will not be -- I will learn something about my D4 every time I pick this book up. Dave's books are thorough, clear and enjoyable. As opposed to the Nikon manuals, which feature English translations of inscrutable Japanese logic, Dave's books simply make sense! Adding high quality color illustrations makes the books all the more useful, because they show the effects of various settings. And speaking of setting -- Dave not only tells you his recommendations, but his reasons as well. I constantly tell people who are getting new cameras -- "Get the book." And by "the Book," I mean Dave Busch's book. It was painfully well worth waiting for!
